Elder Douglas F. Simmons Sr. gave his life to the Lord at the tender age of fifteen. In that same year, he received the Holy Ghost under the leadership of Apostle Joyce Y. Lemmon of Deliverance Tabernacle Church of Christ. During his tenure at Deliverance Tabernacle, he served faithfully on the choir, and the Youth Ministry, where he obtained the nickname “Pastor Doug”.

In 2008 he received a call to ministry. He has been commissioned by God to live out Isaiah 61:1 “The Spirit of the Lord is upon me because the lord hath anointed me to preach good tidings unto the meek; He hath sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and the opening of the prison to them that are bound”.

Elder Doug was ordained as an Elder in the Lord’s Church at the hands of Apostle Joyce Lemmon and Bishop Danny Johnson in 2018. He served as interim Pastor at Bethlehem Pentecostal Assembly in Harlem, NY. When that assignment ended Elder Doug inquired of the Lord what was next for him and his family. The Lord replied “it’s time for TRUTH”.

On April 24, 2021 The Truth Center International Inc was born in Columbia, Maryland. Doug along with his wife, Cherith Simmons are the Senior & Executive Pastors. leading a group of people who are determined to become pillars of Truth on the earth.

Pastor Doug attended Morgan State University where he studied Business Administration. On April 9, 2011, Elder Doug married the love of his life Lady Cherith. They are the proud parents of 2 beautiful children Douglas Simmons II, and Sanaa Simmons. Pastor Doug ministers under the motto - Fusing Truth With Power and Love

Elder Cherith N. Simmons, a native of Brooklyn, New York, is the youngest of seven siblings. Cherith was introduced to Christianity through her parents, Elders William and Lillie Pointer. She accepted Christ around the tender age of 9 years old and began to grow in her faith while a member of Christian Cultural Center under the pastoral leadership of Dr. A.R. Bernard, Sr.

Elder Cherith earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Legal Studies, from John Jay College of Criminal Justice. She continued her education with theological seminary courses at Christian Bible Institute of Brownsville, as well as obtained her Chaplaincy for Brookdale Hospital in NY.

As a faithful community leader, Cherith has dedicated 15 years of her career in the social services field working with at-risk youth, domestic violence victims and their children and Veterans with addiction. For the past seven years she has continued her career in law enforcement - beginning in the Brooklyn District Attorney’s office, and now as a clerk in the States Attorney in Maryland.

In 2002, Cherith heard the Lord calling her and she re-dedicated her life to Christ.  It was at this time she deepened her walk with the Lord and received her spiritual training at Christ Fellowship Worship Center under the tutelage of Pastor Mark and Lady Vanessa Dance, Sr.  Elder Cherith was blessed to serve in many capacities, but the dearest to her heart are the Youth Ministry and Intercessory prayer.

In 2008 she accepted the call to ministry. Elder Simmons is passionate about Gods Word and His people.  She has committed to building women by creating and executing a series of bible studies and prayer groups that promote introspection and growth.  Cherith is known for her kind spirit and believes strength is gained in healthy communities. Her convictions of the Word, and unwavering stand in Truth produces deliverance and hope in the lives of those around her.

As Lady Cherith serves beside her husband Pastor Doug, they are the proud parents of Douglas II and Sanaa.  Cherith is a true example of a woman who walks in God’s Favor. She’s a faithful servant as an Elder in the Lords Church, loving and devoted wife for over 10 years, a dedicated mother and prayer warrior.  Cherith efficiently helps to manage the Woman’s ministry and is always willing to assist in any capacity. She is a down to earth, jovial and balanced woman of God. As a mentor, confidante, friend, and sister to many, she gains her strength through her favorite scripture Job 14:7-9; paraphrased in Cherith’s words – “Okay,  you've been knocked down... but get up! As long as there is life, there is hope!”

OUR MISSION.png

Our Mission...

Our mission at The Truth Center MD is to be a communal haven for a multi-generational and multi-cultural group of believers who will champion the truth of Christ while operating in ministry and marketplace.

Our Vision...

Our vision is to impact the world with truth

We Believe...

Staying committed to the word of God, which is the bread of life we can build the kingdom of God through our core values:

Truth is our Foundation

Truth is the portal to Freedom

Truth equals Fidelity

Above all Stand In Truth!

We Also Believe...

The One True God

The one true God has revealed Himself as the eternally self-existent, self-revealed “I AM,” and has further revealed Himself as embodying the principles of relationship and association, by simultaneously existing as Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. (Deut. 6:4; Mark 12:29; Isa, 43:10, 11; Matt. 28:19)

Man’s Fall and Redemption

Man was created good and upright, for God said, “Let us make man in our image and after our likeness.” Man, by voluntary transgression, fell, and his only hope of redemption is in Jesus Christ, the Son of God (Gen. 1:26-31; Gen. 3:17; Rom. 5:12-21).

The Salvation of Man

Conditions of Salvation

The Grace of God, which brings salvation, has appeared to all men, through the preaching of repentance toward God and through faith in the Lord Jesus Christ; man is saved by the washing of regeneration and renewing of the Holy Spirit, and being justified by grace, has become heir of God according to the hope of eternal life (Titus 2:11; 3:5-7; Rom. 10:13-15; Luke 24:47).

Evidence of Salvation

The inward evidence to the believer of his salvation is the direct witness of the Spirit (Rom. 8:16). The outward evidence to all men is a life of holiness (1 Thess. 4:7, 2 Tim 1:9).

The Promise of the Father

All believers should ardently expect and earnestly seek the Promise of the Father, which is the baptism in the Holy Spirit. With it comes the infilling of power for life and service, and the bestowment of the gifts and their uses in the work of the ministry (Luke 24:49; Acts 1:4-B; Cor. 12:1-31). This experience may be distinct from and subsequent to the experience of the New Birth (Acts 2:38; 10:44-46; 11:14-16; 15:7-9).

Sanctification Process

By the power of the Holy Spirit we strive to obey the command, “Be ye holy, for I am holy.” Sanctification is the will of God for all believers, and should be earnestly pursued by walking in obedience of God’s Word (Heb. 12:14; 1 Pet. 1:15, 16; 1 Thess. 5:23, 24; I John 2:6).

The Church

The church is the holy Body of Christ, the habitation of God through the Spirit, with divine appointments for the fulfillment of her great commission. Each believer is an integral part of the church, and their names are written in the Lamb’s  Book of Life. (1 Thess. 2:4)

Ministry

Divinely called and Scripturally ordained ministry has been provided by our Lord for a two-fold purpose: (1) The evangelization of the world, and (2) The edification of the Body of Christ (Mark 16:15, 20; Eph. 4:11-13).

Marriage

God created marriage. It is a covenant made between a man and a woman that makes them one (Gen 2: 22, 24; Matt 19:5-6).

Divine Healing

Deliverance from sickness is provided for in the atonement of Christ and is the privilege of all believers (Isa. 53:4, 5; Matt. 8:16, 17; Mark 16:18; John 5:14).
